bearbrick-happy-kuji-spider-man-spider-verse-23-spot-100
BE@RBRICK Happy Kuji "Spider-Man: Spider-Verse" – 23: Spot (100%)

With the animated film “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, a comic villain long smiled at was given an impressive stage: Spot, the man whose body is covered in black holes through which he can open portals and bend space and reality alike. In the Happy Kuji series “Spider-Man: Spider-Verse”, Medicom Toy dedicates a Bearbrick of its own to this character. Happy Kuji is a lottery format popular in Japan in which fans draw their prizes. The Japanese print on the blister card identifies this figure as part of the Bearbrick prize category.

The design impresses through radical reduction. On a brilliant white base sits a large, deep black blot that takes up almost the entire face and trails off into small splatters at the edges, as if someone had dripped ink onto paper. Further irregular blots of different sizes and shapes are scattered across the torso, arms and legs, some compact, some frayed. This stark black-and-white contrast captures the sketchy, hand-drawn aesthetic with which Spot was animated in the film, and turns the iconic Bearbrick silhouette into a graphic statement that catches the eye instantly.

You receive a single figure in 100% format, around 7 cm tall. A ball chain on the head turns the Bearbrick into a charm for your bag, rucksack or keyring if you would rather not display it on a shelf. The blister card is an eye-catcher too: purple comic halftone dots, the film logo and the large number 23 make the packaging a collectable part of the whole as well. Because Happy Kuji prizes in Japan are awarded by lottery, it comes down to luck which figure you draw – an appeal that makes this edition particularly exciting for collectors.

For fans of the Spider-Verse, lovers of strong villain figures and anyone who appreciates minimalist design, this Bearbrick is a real enrichment. It works just as well as a desk companion as it does as an original gift for Marvel enthusiasts.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0843/3133/1850/files/bearbrick-happy-kuji-spider-man-spider-verse-23-spot-100-herstellerbild.webp?v=1790424240
