For the 2016 Series 32, Japanese artist Tomohito Yamada created a veritable kaleidoscope of colors, shapes, and faces, transforming the entire figure from head to toe into a living work of art. This Artist Edition is a perfect example of how Bearbricks can become a canvas for contemporary art, blurring the lines between toy and art object.

The design is an exuberant visual frenzy. The head features a large, abstract face with a yellow balloon eye in the center, surrounded by pastel-colored areas of pink, purple, and light blue, interspersed with wavy lines and small decorative elements. The ears feature contrasting patterns of red stripes and colorful diagonal lines. A broad, red-rimmed grin with visible teeth gives the figure an almost carnivalesque character. The visual explosion continues on the torso: another stylized face with asymmetrical eyes, decorative patterns, and an ornamental collar in blue-violet forms the center. Small details such as the yellow number five in an orange circle, floral motifs, and abstract shapes can be found throughout.

The arms each feature different color gradients from red-yellow to beige-blue, decorated with mysterious symbols and small faces. The legs feature more surreal eyes with tears, grinning mouths, and architectural elements on a yellow and blue background, while the hands are pink and purple with white accents. This maximalistically designed Bearbrick looks like a three-dimensional hidden object puzzle, revealing new details every time you look at it.

For collectors who appreciate the extraordinary, this artist edition is an absolute statement piece that, with its vibrant color palette and unconventional design, is guaranteed to become the eye-catcher of any collection.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0843/3133/1850/files/bearbrick-series-32-artist-tomohito-yamada-100-herstellerbild.webp?v=1760436755
