Product description

Ao Oni is one of Japan's most influential indie horror games, having amassed a massive fanbase since its release in 2004. Developed by noprops using RPG Maker, the game places players in an abandoned mansion where they must escape a mysterious purple monster. What started as a small freeware project evolved into a cultural phenomenon, leading to manga adaptations, an anime film, and countless Let's Play videos. Medicom Toy is now dedicating its own Bearbrick to this cult classic of the Japanese gaming scene, translating the eponymous blue demon into the unmistakable bear silhouette.

The BE@RBRICK Ao Oni (400%) captures the monster's iconic look with astonishing precision. The entire body is rendered in a rich, matte purple, staying true to the character's color scheme. The design of the face is particularly well executed: the characteristic, piercingly dark eyes with their tiny pupils gaze eerily at the viewer, while the broad, flat nose and hinted mouth are defined by fine dark gray lines. The Bearbrick's ears are made of transparent plastic, creating a charming contrast to the opaque purple of the rest of the body. Subtle curved lines run across the chest and back, subtly hinting at Ao Oni's massive physique without breaking the minimalist aesthetic. This reduced yet effective design makes the figure highly appealing both as a collectible and as a standalone design object.

With a height of approximately 28 cm, the 400% variant offers an impressive presence and is ideal as an eye-catcher on a shelf. The combination of Japanese indie gaming culture and Medicom Toy's iconic Bearbrick format makes this model a rarity that appeals equally to horror gaming fans and design toy collectors. Those familiar with the purple terror from the abandoned mansion will immediately recognize this Bearbrick – and those new to it are guaranteed to be captivated by its peculiar charisma.

Whether as the centerpiece of a Bearbrick collection, a tribute to a milestone in indie horror history, or an extraordinary decorative piece with a creepy factor – this Bearbrick uniquely combines pop culture and collecting passion. Secure this special model now and bring the terror of Ao Oni directly into your home.

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

We offer free shipping within the European Union for orders over €75. For orders below this amount, we charge a flat shipping fee of €4.90 for deliveries within Germany and €7.90 for other EU countries. For customers in Switzerland or UK, the shipping fee is CHF 10.00 or GBP 10.00 respectively, with a minimum order value of CHF 75 or GBP 75. We cover all customs duties and import taxes for you.

What payment options do I have?

What happens if I don't like the Bearbrick or it arrives damaged?

Simply contact us by phone, email, or chat, and we'll send you a prepaid DHL return label. Will I receive a certificate of authenticity for this Bearbrick?

For all Bearbricks 200% and larger (including 100%+400% sets), we at Zaiser Art Gallery issue an additional Certificate of Authenticity for your records. This underscores our commitment and conviction to offering only genuine Medicom Toy products.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
