Hardly any video game icon shaped the 90s quite like SEGA's blue hedgehog. To mark his 20th anniversary, this cult character was translated into the coveted Series 23 of the Bearbrick line in 2011 and assigned to the Hero category. The BE@RBRICK Series 23 Hero "Sonic the Hedgehog 20th Anniversary" (100%) brings the charm of the classic character to the unmistakable bear format, combining nostalgic gaming memories with the collecting concept that made Medicom Toy famous worldwide.

Visually, the figure captures the character perfectly: the body glows in a rich, deep blue, while the belly, muzzle and arms are set off in a warm beige ochre. The large green eyes with their distinctive joined outline and the friendly smile give the 100% format plenty of expression. The white gloves on the round bear hands and the characteristic red sneakers with a white stripe on the feet reference the iconic design of the original down to the last detail. The translucent blue ears also add a subtle accent and round off the harmonious overall look.

This model comes as a single in the 100% format, standing around 7 cm tall, and is part of Series 23, in which Bearbricks are sorted by themes such as Hero. As a licensed rendition of one of the best-known gaming characters of all time, and thanks to its anniversary theme, the figure holds a special appeal for collectors who appreciate crossovers between pop culture, video games and designer toys.

Whether as an eye-catcher on the shelf, as a nostalgic statement for retro gaming fans or as an original gift idea: this compact figure combines the joy of collecting with cult status. If you're looking for the combination of iconic gaming history and the typical Bearbrick look, you're picking up a true centrepiece of Series 23.

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there’s no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector’s item in its own right and important for preserving the model’s value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colours and material over time.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy’s production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
