What if Superman were evil? This grim question lies at the heart of the 2019 superhero horror film Brightburn, produced by James Gunn. The Series 40 horror "Brandon Breyer" brings that film's disturbing main character into the Bearbrick world, featuring the alien boy in his iconic homemade costume.

Brandon Breyer is a twelve-year-old boy who crash-landed in a space capsule in Brightburn, Kansas, as a baby and was adopted by the childless couple Tori and Kyle Breyer. When Brandon reaches puberty, he develops superhuman powers such as super strength, flight, and deadly lasers from his eyes. But instead of becoming a hero, he transforms into a psychopathic supervillain who wreaks terror on his hometown.

This Bearbrick features Brandon in his homemade costume, based on a wasp: The distinctive red hood with cut-out eyeholes and the characteristic shoelaces threaded through fabric pieces form his mask. The dark blue work jacket with red breast pockets and white sleeves is precisely recreated, as are the dark blue pants with gray boots emblazoned with his self-created double-B symbol. The white eyes with red pupils peering through the mask give the figure a particularly eerie expression.

The horror genre has been an integral part of every regular series since the beginning of Bearbrick history, focusing on iconic characters from the genre. Brightburn is a unique deconstruction of the superhero mythos, showing how alien powers without a moral compass become a threat. The film, known for its brutal scenes and reversal of the Superman origin story, received mixed reviews but found fans as a dark alternative to classic superhero stories.

Standing at 7 cm tall, this Bearbrick is a dark statement for horror and superhero fans alike. Perfect for anyone who appreciates the supervillain horror genre and is looking for an exceptional figure for their collection.

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there’s no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector’s item in its own right and important for preserving the model’s value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colours and material over time.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy’s production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
