Product description

Hisashi Imai has been the lead guitarist and principal composer of BUCK-TICK, one of Japan's most influential rock bands and a co-founder of the Visual Kei movement, since 1983. Although naturally right-handed, Imai plays his guitars left-handed—a quirk that earned him the legendary nickname "Kisai Lefty" (the brilliant left-hander). His musical spectrum ranges from industrial and gothic rock to experimental electronica, and his visual aesthetic is as distinctive as his sound: he cites artists such as Salvador Dalí, Giorgio de Chirico, and manga artist Hirohiko Araki as his creative influences. After more than four decades with the band and over twenty studio albums, Imai embodies the fusion of musical innovation and visual avant-garde like few others.

At the heart of this Bearbricks are Imai's iconic signature models by Fernandes, most notably the famous "BT-MM"—known internally as the "Maimai"—a guitar whose violin-like silhouette, with curved f-holes and spiral tips, was designed by Imai himself and has become his visual trademark since its debut at the Tokyo Dome in 1989. The illustrations on the figure are by Imai himself, depicting his various guitar models as a sketchy, almost graphic-artistic all-over pattern. On a bold, high-gloss red background, the guitar motifs in black, white, and gray are spread across the entire body of both figures in 100% and 400% scale—a vibrant jumble reminiscent of Imai's eccentric stage presence.

Following the first, black version, this red version is the second release in the collaboration between Medicom Toy and the rock apparel label Amplifier, which specializes in combining Japanese music history and designer toys. If you appreciate BUCK-TICK, Visual Kei, or Japanese guitar artistry, this set is a collector's item with real substance – designed by the artist himself and imbued with over forty years of music history.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

We offer free shipping within the European Union for orders over €75. For orders below this amount, we charge a flat shipping fee of €4.90 for deliveries within Germany and €7.90 for other EU countries. For customers in Switzerland or UK, the shipping fee is CHF 10.00 or GBP 10.00 respectively, with a minimum order value of CHF 75 or GBP 75. We cover all customs duties and import taxes for you.

What payment options do I have?

At MyBearBrick.de you can pay securely and conveniently using various payment methods, including PayPal, Klarna (purchase on account), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express).

What happens if I don't like the Bearbrick or it arrives damaged?

Your satisfaction is important to us. If, contrary to expectations, you don't like a Bearbrick or it's damaged, you have a 30-day free return policy. Simply contact us by phone, email, or chat, and we'll send you a prepaid DHL return label. Once we receive your return, we'll, of course, refund the full purchase price, including any shipping costs.

Will I receive a certificate of authenticity for this Bearbrick?

For all Bearbricks 200% and larger (including 100%+400% sets), we at Zaiser Art Gallery issue an additional Certificate of Authenticity for your records. This underscores our commitment and conviction to offering only genuine Medicom Toy products.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
