When Japanese craftsmanship meets contemporary design, something truly special emerges: The BE@RBRICK Karimoku Yuma Kano (400%) is the result of a collaboration between Medicom Toy, the renowned Japanese furniture manufacturer Karimoku, and the artist Yuma Kano. Karimoku is one of Japan's leading wood processors and has stood for the highest precision and sustainable handling of solid wood for decades. Yuma Kano, in turn, is known for his "ForestBank" project, where he transforms wood scraps, bark, branches, and sawdust – materials that would otherwise end up as waste – into completely new, unique surfaces. This very philosophy is reflected in this Bearbrick.
The character is made entirely from genuine solid wood and impresses with its natural material aesthetics. The head and ears show a warm, clearly grained wooden surface, while the legs are kept in a darker walnut brown. The heart, however, is the torso: irregularly distributed wood fragments, branch slices, and pieces of bark are embedded on a matte, rich green with fine speckles, appearing like an abstract mosaic from nature. Each of these embedded elements tells its own story and transforms the ForestBank material into a vibrant, almost picturesque surface. No two pieces are alike.
This model is exclusively offered in the 400% format, reaching an imposing height of approximately 28 cm. Unlike lacquered or printed Bearbricks, this is a real wooden object where the individual grain and the natural arrangement of the material fragments make each piece unique.
