Product description

The Ruins of St. Paul's, known in Portuguese as Ruínas de São Paulo, are among the most impressive examples of colonial architecture in all of Asia. Built between 1602 and 1640 by Jesuit priests under the direction of the Italian architect Carlo Spinola, the Church of Mater Dei was once the largest Catholic church in East Asia. Exiled Japanese Christians and Chinese artisans collaboratively created the monumental granite facade, whose five levels merge Baroque forms with Far Eastern ornamentation. When a devastating fire in 1835 destroyed everything except the stone facade, that very ruin became a landmark of Macau and, since 2005, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Bearbrick pays tribute to this historic building in 1000% format, making it the first Bearbrick ever to be dedicated to a Macau World Heritage Site.

The design of the Bearbrick adopts the aesthetic of weathered sandstone. The surface shows a warm, beige-brown stone texture that fades from the extremities to a deep, almost black brown, thus creating the effect of centuries-old patina. The torso features a detailed black drawing of the iconic church facade, including the distinctive grand staircase, colonnade columns, and carved saint figures. The back shows the opposite view of the facade, thus completing the architectural representation. The right arm is printed with the lettering MACAU, while the left arm features the Portuguese name Ruínas de São Paulo, giving the model authentic bilingualism.

This Bearbrick was created as a limited exclusive model in collaboration between Forward Fashion and Medicom Toy and was released in 2023 through the BE@RBRICK Store at Galaxy Macau, the only authorized Bearbrick specialty store outside of Japan. Standing 70 cm tall, this model connects the world of designer toys with architectural cultural history and is aimed at collectors who are looking for unique pieces with narrative depth within the Bearbrick cosmos. A collector's item that not only references history but makes it visible and tangible.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is this Bearbrick already pre-assembled?

Yes, all Bearbricks available at MyBearBrick.de are delivered fully assembled by the manufacturer Medicom Toy and are ready to display. So there's no risk of damaging the model.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?

This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.

What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?

Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided to protect the colors and material over time and ensure long-term value retention.

How quickly will my order be shipped and how long will delivery take?

Orders received by 2:00 PM on weekdays (11:00 AM on Saturdays) will be shipped the same day via DHL. Delivery within Germany typically takes 1 to 2 business days. Deliveries to other EU countries or Switzerland typically take 2 to 4 business days. You will always receive a tracking number so you can check the status of your delivery at any time.

How much are the shipping costs for this Bearbrick?

We offer free shipping within the European Union for orders over €75. For orders below this amount, we charge a flat shipping fee of €4.90 for deliveries within Germany and €7.90 for other EU countries. For customers in Switzerland or UK, the shipping fee is CHF 10.00 or GBP 10.00 respectively, with a minimum order value of CHF 75 or GBP 75. We cover all customs duties and import taxes for you.

What payment options do I have?

At MyBearBrick.de you can pay securely and conveniently using various payment methods, including PayPal, Klarna (purchase on account), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express).

What happens if I don't like the Bearbrick or it arrives damaged?

Your satisfaction is important to us. If, contrary to expectations, you don't like a Bearbrick or it's damaged, you have a 30-day free return policy. Simply contact us by phone, email, or chat, and we'll send you a prepaid DHL return label. Once we receive your return, we'll, of course, refund the full purchase price, including any shipping costs.

Will I receive a certificate of authenticity for this Bearbrick?

For all Bearbricks 200% and larger (including 100%+400% sets), we at Zaiser Art Gallery issue an additional Certificate of Authenticity for your records. This underscores our commitment and conviction to offering only genuine Medicom Toy products.

How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?

Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
